Aston Villa await Manzambi's fitness ahead of Manchester City clash
Aston Villa are awaiting the fitness of attacking midfielder Johan Mvila ahead of their match against Manchester City on Saturday in the Premier League.
Manzambi missed Aston Villa's victory over Norwegian Vikings in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday due to a minor injury, and he will undergo a final medical assessment before the match to determine his availability.
Unai Emery, the Aston Villa manager, confirmed during the press conference held on Friday that Amadou Onana, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and Matteo Ruggeri will continue to be absent, explaining that the coaching staff will assess the condition of the remaining players after Wednesday's match, given the short time between the two games.
Emery said: "Some players are clearly still out of consideration, like Amadou Onana, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and Rogério. As for the rest of the players, we will see how they are after the match we played on Wednesday, as some of them felt pain. I can't tell you now before the training session ends this evening."
Aaron Wan-Bissaka will be out for three to four weeks as Aston Villa prepare to host Manchester City at Villa Park. The visitors enter the match as unbeaten leaders of the Premier League.
