Guardiola continues support for Palestine and calls for condemnation of apartheid

Pep Guardiola, the former Manchester City manager, continues to express his solidarity with the Palestinian people by promoting a Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) conference in Europe, scheduled to be held in Barcelona.

The message highlights the importance of condemning the apartheid system and holding accountable those complicit with it, within the framework of calls to continue moving in support of Palestinian rights.

The European Conference for the Boycott Movement is set to take place in Barcelona from November 18 to 20, 2026, under the slogan "Resisting the Logic of Power... for Palestine and Humanity", with the participation of activists, artists, academics, and trade unionists from Europe and Palestine.

This is not the first time Guardiola has taken such a stance, as he has previously expressed his solidarity with the Palestinian people on several occasions. In January 2026, he delivered an emotional speech during a solidarity event in FC Barcelona to support the children of Palestine, wearing a Palestinian keffiyeh. He has also called in previous statements for not remaining silent in the face of the suffering of civilians in Gaza, and his solidarity with the Palestinian cause has extended to his daughter Maria.
