Costacurta and Capello criticise Milan's defensive errors after defeat to Bournemouth

AC Milan faced heavy criticism for defensive errors during their 3-0 loss to AFC Bournemouth in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday evening.

Alessandro Costacurta, former AC Milan star, stated that the team made a clear mistake in dealing with the first penalty, explaining: "In the first penalty, we found four AC Milan players facing one player inside the area, which left AFC Bournemouth players unmarked."

Fabio Capello, the former Italian coach, criticized the defensive positioning and the lack of marking on opponents, stating: "Players move forward without marking the opposing players, then comes the free kick that resulted in the third goal. If you are not confident in your ability to stand in the wall, then do not stand in it at all."

Fabio Capello added: "We need a solid human wall, not a wall full of gaps," referring to the defensive organization weaknesses displayed by AC Milan during the match.
