Paladino: We want to collect as many points as possible before the break
Raffaele Palladino, Bologna's head coach, discussed his team's preparations for the upcoming match against Cagliari, scheduled for Saturday, in the Italian league, emphasizing the need to continue developing and to secure as many points as possible before the next break.
Paladino said during the press conference: "I saw progress from the Torino match, and we had an excellent first half against Lecce. The match against Inter was against a team we all know how strong they are. I feel regret that we lost by only 1-0, but I always want my team to perform better, and the players must continue to develop."
Bologna's coach added that the team is working on improving their build-up play, praising the importance of Luis Ferguson, whom he described as an experienced and leadership player. He also confirmed the development of both Oscar Hiljemark and Tommaso Moro, stressing that he gives all players the necessary attention and does not want to leave any player behind.
Regarding attacking options, Paladino explained that he has tried Ødegaard in different positions to better understand his capabilities, pointing out the possibility of relying on him as a second striker. He also emphasized the importance of healthy competition among players, stating: "I want everyone to feel that they are capable of starting, whether it’s Ødegaard, van de Beek, or the other attacking options."
The coach addressed the match against Cagliari, warning of its difficulty, saying: "Cagliari are an organized team, and I expect us to face a fighting opponent. We need to collect as many points as possible before the break, and we have another tough match ahead against AC Monza at their ground."
Baldini concluded his remarks by affirming his confidence in the coaching staff and players, stressing the importance of continuing to work until the end of the season, and rejecting injuries or physical aspects as excuses for the decline in results.
