Serie A has witnessed a record number of managerial dismissals at the start of the 2026-2027 season, with four coaches being sacked after the first six rounds of the competition, a situation that has not occurred since at least 2000, according to data from Opta.

Fabio Grosso has become the first managerial casualty of the season after ACF Fiorentina terminated his contract on September 6, following the third round of matches, with the team sitting at the bottom of the Serie A table without any points. Paulo Vanoli has taken over the responsibilities in his place.

Domenico Tedesco has been sacked from his role as manager of Bologna on September 16, following the fourth round, after the team collected just one point and occupied the sixteenth position. Parma then dismissed their coach Carlos Cuesta on September 27, after the fifth round, as the team slipped to fifteenth place with four points, with Alberto Gilardino replacing him.

Giovani Stroppa has become the latest managerial casualty, with Venezia announcing on October 13 that his tenure has ended after the sixth round, leaving the team at the bottom of the table without any points. The club has yet to announce who will take over the role, while this start indicates an exceptional wave of dismissals in Serie A, as no season since 2000 has seen four managers sacked this quickly.
