Enzo Maresca, the manager of Manchester City, praised his team's performance following their 5-1 victory over AEK Athens in the third round of the UEFA Champions League.

Mariska said in statements to "TNT Sports": "I think we delivered a complete performance. The match was not easy, especially after facing Paris Saint-Germain. We had two matches against Ipswich and today, and we needed to win both, and we accomplished our mission."

He added: "We conceded a goal again from a counter-attack, and we could have dealt with that situation better. We scored five goals, and perhaps we could have scored more, but I am also happy that some players who didn't get much playing time were ready, and that is important."

He continued: "Honestly, this is the best feeling any coach can experience when making several changes and the team ultimately delivers a good performance. I am especially happy for those players."

Speaking about Phil Foden's return to form, Manchester City manager said: "This is good news for me, because he is performing well, and that is what we want for many reasons. Firstly, because he is a top-class player, and we know his potential. I am happy for him, and also for the team, because we now have an additional weapon we can benefit from."

Mariska praised the performance of Ryan Cherki, stating: "I believe Ryan has been performing well from the start, both in terms of numbers and goals and assists. I am very happy with his level since day one."

He spoke about the participation of the academy players, stating: "I believe that three academy players made their first appearance tonight, and this is great news for the academy and the club, and we are happy about it."

Mariska concluded his comments by addressing Josko Gvardiol's situation, confirming that there is no cause for concern. He said: "He is fine. He felt a minor issue with his back during warm-up, but he was able to play and was in good condition."
