Newcastle monitor Valencia talent ahead of potential signing

Newcastle are continuing to monitor David Otorbi, the 19-year-old winger from Valencia, amid suggestions that signing him in January will be difficult, with a potential move in the summer of 2027.

TEAMtalk reports that Newcastle are the most active club in monitoring the player, who recently scored his first goals with the first team of Valencia after coming on as a substitute and catching attention with his speed and ability to dribble past defenders.

Oturb's agent confirmed that he has received calls from several clubs, stating: "We have received calls from a fair number of clubs in recent weeks, especially from the Premier League."

The player has signed a new contract with Valencia in April that runs until June 2028, with an automatic extension clause until 2031 based on his appearances for the first team. The release clause is set at around €30 million, while the club is working to strengthen its guarantees to retain him.

Oturbí has become the youngest player to make his first appearance with the first team of Valencia in January 2024, at the age of 16, and is currently focused on establishing himself with the team.
