De Zerbi on Richarlison: It's no longer my problem!
Roberto De Zerbi, the Italian manager of Tottenham, has confirmed that the future of Brazilian forward Richarlison is no longer his concern, as the player has fallen out of his tactical plans during the current period, leading to rising tensions between the two parties.
Roberto De Zerbi, during the press conference ahead of the Coventry match scheduled for Monday in the Premier League, said: "I don't know, it's no longer my problem. You should ask Vinai Venkatesham, the club's CEO, or Johan Lange, the technical director. It's no longer my problem."
The Italian coach added: "I know that I, as a coach, must accept the situation and provide support and bear the pressure and responsibility, even when the responsibility is not mine, because I did not make the decision in the first place. If he wants to talk about me, he can do so, and he knows where to find me. I have been in my office since 8:30 in the morning until the evening."
Richarlison, 29, participated with Tottenham's reserve team in the middle of the week after being left out of Roberto De Zerbi's plans. The Brazilian forward has repeatedly voiced his dissatisfaction with how he has been treated at the club on social media.
De Zerbi emphasized that he holds no negative feelings towards the player, but he does not want to continue the controversy at this time, explaining: "I have no issues with anyone, but I do not want to talk about this matter again, as my focus is on the Coventry match and working on improving my team."
