Fabregas after defeat to Feyenoord: I may have made some wrong choices
Cesc Fàbregas, the Spanish manager of Como, expressed his regret over the loss to Feyenoord, with a score of 3-2, in the UEFA Champions League, confirming that his team is still in a learning phase and gaining experience, especially since the match was their first European game away from home.
Cesc Fàbregas said after the match: "This is part of the ongoing development process; it is our first European match away from home, and we are still learning. We have to deal with three competitions, and I may have made some mistakes in my choices. The problem was conceding the equalizing goal quickly, and during the last 30 minutes, we imposed our control, but Feyenoord deserved the win."
The Spanish coach discussed the injury of his player Assane Diao, who had to leave the pitch after scoring the opening goal, explaining: "He felt he could no longer run, and we need to assess his condition. We hope we substituted him at the right time, as he is an important player, which was evident from the way we played and the goal he scored."
Cesc Fàbregas added that playing away against the opponent is completely different from playing at home, pointing out that Feyenoord has significant experience in European victories, and that his team managed to put them under pressure during some periods of the match, but they were the stronger side overall.
Como's coach concluded his remarks by asserting that the UEFA Champions League represents a valuable opportunity for the club, stating: "It is the toughest competition, and the level of competition may be higher than the FIFA World Cup. I am calm because European participation is a gift for the club after last season, and we are here five years ahead of the schedule we expected."
