Gian Piero Gasperini, the head coach of AS Roma, expressed his dissatisfaction with the decision to send off striker Donyell Malen during the match against Como, which ended in a goalless draw today, Sunday, in the Italian league, confirming that his team had to change their style of play after being reduced to ten men.

Gasperini stated that AS Roma had a good first half and managed to create suitable scoring opportunities, pointing out that his team seemed capable of taking the lead. However, the match became complicated after Malin's red card in the 53rd minute, which forced his players to focus on defending against a strong opponent like Como.

In discussing the red card incident, AS Roma's coach defended Malin, stating that the forward was subjected to repeated fouls before his challenge, and that he did not intend to harm his opponent.

Gasperini said: "Football is not played with still images," criticizing the reliance on still shots to assess incidents and emphasizing the need to consider the full context of the game.

Gasperini praised Paulo Dybala's performance, confirming that he had an exceptional match even after Malin's red card, and helped the team to play out from the back and relieve defensive pressure.

He explained that he considered bringing on Castro after the red card, but decided to keep Dybala after being convinced by his performance to help the team. He expressed satisfaction with his players' resilience and earning a point against Como.
