De Zerbi: This is what I want, and we deserved to lead by two goals in the first half

Roberto De Zerbi, the Italian manager of Tottenham, discussed his team's performance following the 1-1 draw against Manchester United, confirming that the team showed good levels at times during the match, but struggled at the start of the second half, before the red card affected the course of the game.

De Zerbi said about falling behind: "It's not the first time. I think we are playing well, and we cannot forget the strength of the opponent and the great players they have. I see that we deserved to be ahead by two goals in the first half."

He added: "We suffered in the first part of the second half, and the red card was the turning point in the match. After that, our reaction was right, because we deserved to score."

Regarding Bentancur's red card: "Bentancur is a good person, a top-class player, and has a great personality. He made a mistake, but this club needs a reaction right now. Sometimes that is not a nice or correct thing."

He emphasized: "I want to see the same character, the same spirit, that we showed this evening."

He added: "I believe that if we work well in football, and we are serious people with quality, we will be able to achieve results."

He concluded about the team's position: "It's hard to accept and understand, but if we are at the bottom of the table, we have to accept that. We need to be one team, and then we will find our way to achieving results."
