Manchester United lead race to sign Bayern Munich full-back

Manchester United lead the race for English clubs looking to sign Alphonso Davies, the Bayern Munich full-back, to strengthen their left-back position, according to TEAMtalk.

The source indicated that Manchester United's interest in the 25-year-old Canadian player is serious, despite competition from Liverpool, Manchester City, and Arsenal, along with Real Madrid and FC Barcelona, who have made initial inquiries through intermediaries regarding the possibility of signing him.

Bayern Munich are reportedly more open to selling Alphonso Davies compared to 2025, asking for between €60 million and €65 million, which is equivalent to £51 million to £55 million, to agree to his sale.

Manchester United are seeking alternatives after failing in their attempt to sign Lewis Hall from Newcastle United this summer. The club's scouts have also been impressed by Tyrick Mitchell of Crystal Palace, David Raum of Leipzig, and Alejandro Balde of FC Barcelona.

Alphonso Davies has an impressive record with Bayern Munich, winning seven Bundesliga titles and a Champions League title, but Manchester United will need to convince him to leave the German club, with Real Madrid and FC Barcelona competing for his services.
