Real Madrid sets its priorities for summer 2027

Real Madrid are preparing to reshape their priorities in the transfer market for 2027 as the new season approaches, with a focus on strengthening their defensive line. The club aims to secure at least one high-quality signing.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid had explored notable options like Rúben Dias and Alessandro Bastoni last summer, before those moves came to a halt following the signing of Ibrahima Konaté on a free transfer, as the club decided to focus its attention on other positions.

Real Madrid are set to take action to strengthen their defensive line while the sporting management continues to monitor the needs of the midfield and devise new plans to bolster it.

This comes after the conclusion of the Rodri file, the player whom Real Madrid was targeting before he ultimately moved to Barcelona, prompting the club to reassess its midfield needs.

According to Romano, Real Madrid do not want to leave any room for error in their project for next season, and are therefore preparing strategic moves in midfield, alongside their plan to add a top-class defender.

These moves indicate that the club's management has already begun to outline the 2027 project, focusing on enhancing balance within the team and avoiding any recurrence of planning deficiencies in key positions.
