UEFA has confirmed receipt of a large number of documents submitted by Real Madrid regarding the ongoing investigation into the Negreira case linked to FC Barcelona.

According to the Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo", Florentino Pérez, president of Real Madrid, announced on May 12 that he intends to send a detailed report to UEFA regarding the issue.

UEFA has officially stated that ethics and disciplinary inspectors have received the new documents, and they will assess them as part of the ongoing analysis of the case.

According to AS, Real Madrid sent its report to UEFA on June 17, consisting of 50,000 pages. The royal club had joined the ongoing case concerning payments amounting to €8.4 million to José María Enriquez Negreira between 2001 and 2018, when he was the deputy chairman of the Technical Committee of Referees.

UEFA opened an initial information procedure in 2023 regarding the case, which remains ongoing as they deemed it important to wait for the outcome of the criminal proceedings in Spain. FC Barcelona has previously provided all the information requested by the European governing body.

UEFA has confirmed that it has added Real Madrid's documents to the existing file, stating that any potential disciplinary sanctions against FC Barcelona will only be considered if the Spanish judiciary proves the existence of sports corruption.
