João Félix dreams of returning to FC Barcelona as Mendes makes move
João Félix is preparing to return to European football after regaining his form in the Saudi Pro League, where he has become one of the standout players for the Portugal national team, while his contract with Al Nassr ends on June 30.
According to the Spanish newspaper "Sport", João Félix wishes to join a team participating in the UEFA Champions League, but his biggest dream is to return to FC Barcelona for free. He has informed his agent Jorge Mendes of the player's desire to return during the upcoming summer, although his attacking position is not a priority for the team.
João Félix's previous stint with FC Barcelona ended without continuity, as he participated with the team on loan from Atlético and played 44 matches, scoring 10 goals and providing 6 assists. After an unsuccessful spell with Chelsea, he moved to the Saudi Pro League in 2025, where he regained his form and improved his scoring output after being relied upon more in a central role.
João Félix has confirmed in an interview with "AS" that the time has come to return to Europe, stating that he has always dreamed of playing for FC Barcelona, and that he has managed to achieve this dream, even if only for one year.
The Spanish newspaper sees that João Félix is not a priority for FC Barcelona, but his potential arrival for free and his willingness to significantly reduce his salary, along with his different attacking qualities, could make his return to the Catalan club a viable option next summer.
