FC Barcelona delays project requested by Flick and focuses on gym
FC Barcelona has decided to postpone the project to build a residence for the first team players at the Juan Gamper Sports City, redirecting its financial resources towards the construction of a new gym requested by coach Hans Flick.
According to "Sport", FC Barcelona has temporarily halted its planned hotel project next to the Camp Tito Flanagan stadium, which was intended to facilitate player gatherings before certain matches and during breaks after training and matches.
The source indicated that the cost of establishing the residence has risen to around 12 or 14 million euros, after the initial budget was set at 6 million euros. Therefore, it was decided to postpone the project without completely canceling it.
In contrast, the new gym is currently a priority, aimed at expanding the physical training space for the first team, as the current gym has become insufficient for the players' needs.
The construction of the new facility is nearing completion, located next to the training ground. It will feature large glass facades and will allow for muscle, flexibility, and speed training, in addition to recovery exercises.
