Abdelhak Nouri's brother reveals latest updates on his condition after more than 9 years

The brother of former Moroccan player Abdelhak Nouri has revealed the latest updates on his health condition, more than nine years after the incident he suffered during a friendly match with Ajax in July 2017.

Nouri's brother stated that his condition is stable and that things have improved significantly compared to the initial period after his return to the Netherlands. He explained that Abdelhak goes through moments when he is awake and others when he sleeps, while the family tries to understand his signals and communicate with him in their own way.

He added: "We are convinced that he understands everything. I put everything else aside for him, and the whole family takes care of him with love."

The player's brother noted that one of the most impactful moments was when Abdelhak smiled for the first time in nearly three years, saying: "It was an indescribable moment, and we felt at that time that he knew us and understood us."

He confirmed that the relationship between Nouri and Ajax remains strong, explaining: "Ajax is still close to us, and Abdelhak watches the team's matches with us when his condition allows it."
