Ouazane after goal against Atalanta: I want to maintain my humility

Moroccan international Abdellah Ouazane, a player for Ajax, expressed his great happiness at scoring a goal in the dying minutes of the match against Atalanta, confirming that his focus is currently on improving his level and maintaining his humility, away from expectations regarding his football future and the possibility of reaching the pinnacle of the game.

The young player’s comments came after Ajax's 2-0 victory over Atalanta in the UEFA Europa Conference League, where he stated in an interview with Ziggo Sport that his joy at scoring does not prevent him from handling matters calmly, saying: "It was a great moment and a beautiful goal, but we will remain humble and deal with things normally."

Abdellah Ouazane revealed details about the moment before scoring his goal, explaining that he looked at the clock and noticed the match was in its final minute. He decided to take on a defender in a one-on-one situation, having not had the chance to do so during the match.

The Moroccan player added: "It was great to finish the match this way, I felt a lot of happiness after scoring the goal, and all the emotions inside me came out."

Abdellah Ouazane talked about his playing style, pointing out that the attacking tendency is an essential part of his personality on the pitch. He said: "I am a player who always loves to play forward; the attacking instinct runs in my blood. I don't like passing the ball backwards, even though it can be necessary at times."

He explained that his entry onto the pitch coincided with signs of fatigue from some of his teammates, which led him to be mindful of the situation during his movements. He emphasized his confidence in his abilities and his awareness of what he can offer, before confirming that his goal against Atalanta was further evidence of his potential.

Regarding expectations about his future and the possibility of reaching the level of the best players in the world, Moroccan international Abdellah Ouazane stressed that he does not occupy himself with such calculations, preferring to focus on daily work and gradually improving his level.

He said in this regard: "I don't think about these things at all; I focus daily on improving my level and take it day by day. I don't want to say now that I will reach the level of the best players in the world, as there are many talents who were at seventeen and couldn't reach the top."

Ouazane concluded his remarks by emphasizing his commitment to humility and avoiding exaggeration in assessing his future, adding: "I want to remain true to myself, to maintain my humility, and to keep my feet on the ground."
