Ittihad resolves Ahmed Al-Ghamdi's future as he nears free agency

Al-Ittihad have taken a preliminary stance on Ahmed Al-Ghamdi's situation, as the management has moved to open negotiations with the player ahead of his free agency period, seeking to determine his future with the team.

According to sources from Okaz, Ittihad intends to resolve the matter before the player enters the six-month free period in January, either by renewing his contract or considering the possibility of selling him to one of the clubs in the Saudi Pro League.

The management of Al-Ittihad is keen on the importance of Ahmed Al-Ghamdi, especially as the player enjoys the trust of the coaching staff led by German Jens Wissing, who relies on him in their plans for domestic and continental competitions this season.

The management is considering financially benefiting from Ahmed Al-Ghamdi's departure if renewal negotiations falter, instead of waiting for the end of his contract and losing the opportunity to achieve a return from his transfer, according to circulating sources.

Ahmed Al-Ghamdi has joined Al-Ittihad on a permanent basis in June 2024, arriving from Al-Ettifaq, after the club activated the purchase option in his loan contract. Recent data indicates that his current contract will run until June 30, 2027.
