Egyptian television reports have revealed new moves from Saudi club Al Ittihad to sign Emam Ashour, midfielder of Al Ahly FC, during the upcoming winter transfer window.

Negotiations between the two parties have returned to the forefront, after the Saudi club attempted to sign the player during the last summer transfer window, without reaching a final agreement to complete the deal.

Reports indicate that Emam Ashour has previously signed electronically for his transfer to Ittihad, for an annual salary ranging between $3 million and $3.5 million.

However, the transfer was not completed last summer due to the lack of an official offer from the federation to Al Ahly FC's management for the player's departure.

In contrast, Al Ahly FC officials held meetings with Emam Ashour, which concluded with an agreement to extend his contract for 25 million Egyptian pounds annually, in addition to 10 million pounds in bonuses and incentives.

Recent days have seen a return of communications between the two sides, amid the federation's desire to finalize the contract with the midfielder during the upcoming January transfer window and to begin moving forward with a new financial offer.

Reports expect the initial offer to reach $4 million, with the possibility of increasing it to $6 or $7 million depending on the developments in negotiations.

On the other hand, Al Ahly FC are insisting on receiving $10 million in exchange for agreeing to Emam Ashour's departure, which could pose the main obstacle to completing the deal.
