Colombian Richard Ríos, a player for Ittihad, has begun the first steps of his rehabilitation program to recover from an ankle injury, after moving to a medical facility outside Saudi Arabia to commence the treatment phase.

Colombian midfielder Richard Ríos suffered an injury during the match against Abha, which took place in the 12th round of the Saudi Pro League, and will be sidelined for the team in the upcoming period.

The federation has confirmed, in a previous official statement, that medical tests and MRI scans revealed a severe sprain in the player's left ankle.

Tests have revealed damage to the fibular ligament, raising questions about how long Richard Ríos will need before returning to action.

The player is embarking on his first season in the Saudi Pro League with Ittihad, having joined the team during last summer's transfer window on loan from SL Benfica.

Despite his recent experience with the club, Richard Ríos has participated in 9 matches this season, scoring one goal and providing two assists.
