Sports minister inaugurates main building of Mahd Sports Academy
Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal, the Minister of Sports and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mahd Sports Academy, has inaugurated the main building of the academy and the talent residence, as part of the development plan for facilities dedicated to discovering and nurturing athletes.
The initiative aims to provide a comprehensive system that nurtures sporting talents and helps discover their abilities early on, alongside offering the necessary care and rehabilitation programs to develop their level.
The Minister of Sports inspected the administrative building, which covers an area of 4,380 square meters and consists of three floors that include administrative offices, co-working spaces, and meeting rooms.
The headquarters also includes a specialized laboratory for talent discovery, a theater equipped with audio-visual means, as well as two outdoor areas, and facilities for staff breaks and visitor reception and waiting.
The building also includes changing rooms and a storage room, providing the requirements for administrative work and helping to enhance operational efficiency and implement various academy programs.
The inauguration saw the opening of the Talent Residence building, covering an area of 1,558 square meters, distributed over three floors, to provide comprehensive accommodation for athletes enrolled in the academy's programs.
The accommodation features 54 hotel rooms that can accommodate 108 sports talents, in addition to two VIP suites and five relaxation lounges, as well as a restaurant and a fully equipped kitchen with an interactive screen.
The building offers operational and supervisory services around the clock to ensure a safe and comfortable stay that meets the needs of the talents, helping them to settle and focus during their participation in the academy's programs.
The establishment of the two headquarters is part of Mahd Sports Academy's efforts to enhance its operational and technical structure, and to improve the level of services provided to athletes, through facilities that combine administrative work and residential care.
The academy continues to implement specialized programs and training pathways aimed at discovering talent from an early age, preparing athletes capable of competing both locally and internationally, and enhancing the Kingdom's presence in sporting events.
