Borussia Mönchengladbach close to appointing new manager
Borussia Mönchengladbach are close to appointing a new coach to succeed Eugen Polanski, after sporting director Rouven Schröder revealed that there is a clear candidate to take over the team's coaching responsibilities.
Schröder said before the match against Mainz 05, in statements to "Sky Sport", that the club now has a "clear candidate" for the head coach position, but he refused to reveal the name of the coach at this time.
The sporting director stated that the expected coach must have "a degree of experience", along with a proven ability to handle difficult situations and pressures that the team may face during the season.
In contrast, Schröder has settled the debate regarding one of the names linked to the position, explicitly confirming that coach Christian Titz is not among the options for Borussia Mönchengladbach to succeed Polanski.
