Officially: Alexander Blessin appointed new manager of Borussia Mönchengladbach

Borussia Mönchengladbach have announced today, Tuesday, the appointment of Alexander Blessin as the new head coach of the team, succeeding Eugen Polanski, who left his position after the team's difficult start in the Bundesliga.

Blyssen has signed a contract with Borussia Mönchengladbach that runs until June 2028, and he will be officially presented during a press conference held tomorrow, Wednesday, in the presence of sporting director Rouven Schröder.

The appointment of the German coach comes after Borussia Mönchengladbach started the season with four consecutive defeats in the Bundesliga, the latest being a 4-3 loss to Mainz, leaving the team at the bottom of the table with no points and having conceded 16 goals in four matches.

Daniel Blesing previously managed St. Pauli and has also had stints with Belgian side Oostende, Italian club Genoa, and Union Saint-Gilloise, in addition to working for eight years in the youth sector at Leipzig. His first match with Borussia Mönchengladbach will be against 1.FC Köln after the international break on October 11.
