Ankle injury rules Elias Skhiri out for a long time

1.FC Köln have announced that their Tunisian player Elias Skhiri will be out for a long time due to an ankle injury sustained during the match against Borussia Mönchengladbach in the Bundesliga.

The club confirmed on Sunday evening that MRI scans revealed the player will need to stay away for an extended period, without disclosing the exact diagnosis of the injury or specifying the duration of his absence.

Sakiri has been injured following a challenge from Borussia Mönchengladbach's Florian Neuhaus, just before the end of the first half, and was carried off the pitch on a stretcher before being taken to a hospital for necessary medical examinations.
