Yens Wiesing, the German coach, surprised Borussia Mönchengladbach officials by rejecting the offer to take charge of the team after sporting director Rouven Schröder reached out to him in search of a new manager.

German newspaper 'Bild' reports that Vising has apologized for accepting the role, stating that the timing is not right, especially since he only started his project with the federation two months ago.

The German coach has decided to stay with the club despite previously being linked with Borussia Mönchengladbach, which is currently looking for a new manager following a difficult start in the Bundesliga.

Vissin has taken over as coach of Al-Ittihad following the departure of Portuguese Sergio Conceição, and he has made a strong start, achieving 8 wins and 2 draws in his first 10 official matches with the team.

The young coach has been linked with the German club for years, having worked as an assistant in the Borussia Mönchengladbach second team between 2019 and 2021. He also appeared as a player for the first team in 4 matches in the Bundesliga in 2010.

Roven Schröder previously enlisted the services of Vising, having chosen him to work within the coaching staff of Red Bull Salzburg in 2025, which strengthened his relationship with the sporting director of the German club.

Borussia Mönchengladbach have sacked their coach Eugen Polanski after the team lost their first three matches of the new Bundesliga season, with Jan-Moritz Lichte being appointed to take over on an interim basis.

Schröder has received another rejection from coach Ole Werner, while the signing of Alexander Blessin, the former head coach of St. Pauli, has become an unlikely option according to German reports.

The list of candidates includes other names, including Dimitrios Gramozis, former Schalke coach, and Danny Galm, coach of Leverkusen, alongside Christian Titz, Horst Steffen, Christian Eichner, and Bo Henriksen.

Vesing is currently keen to continue his experience with Ittihad, following a strong start with the team, while Borussia Mönchengladbach is continuing its efforts to finalize the identity of the new coach in the coming period.
