French striker Anthony Martial has been offered to Lorient during the summer transfer window, according to the club's sporting director Laurent Koscielny.

Martial, 30 years old, has become a free agent after his contract with CF Monterrey was terminated last June, following a brief stint with the team.

Laurent Koscielny revealed in statements to the newspaper 'Ouest-France' that Lorient received between 400 and 450 offers for players during the transfer window, and Anthony Martial was among the names offered to the club, alongside several former international players.

Koscielny said: "I think we received 400 to 450 offers for players during the transfer window. There were, for example, a large number of former international players, including Anthony Martial. There were players who had previously played with big clubs, and others younger, and we had to sort through these offers efficiently, but we had clear ideas about the quality of players we were looking for."

Martial has reportedly rejected two offers from clubs in Ligue 1, one from a team competing at the top of the table and the other from a club battling for survival, while he is currently close to transferring to newly promoted Málaga.
