Lorient end Monaco's unbeaten run in Ligue 1

AS Monaco suffered their first defeat of the season in Ligue 1, losing 0-1 to FC Lorient on Sunday in the seventh round of matches. This loss sees them lose their position at the top of the table to Paris Saint-Germain on goal difference.

The match was poor in terms of quality, before Benjamin Kadiou succeeded in scoring the winning goal for FC Lorient from a penalty in the 61st minute, following a joint foul by Denis Zakaria and Nazinho against Dembo Sylla.

AS Monaco were the last team to remain unbeaten in Ligue 1 before the weekend matches, but they have lost for the first time this season, as Paris Saint-Germain, Lille, and Paris FC have caught up with them on points since Saturday.

With this result, AS Monaco have lost their position at the top to Paris Saint-Germain, who lead on goal difference, while Paris FC have also drawn level on points with them.
