Ajax officially announces signing of Bissouma
Ajax have officially announced an agreement with Ivorian midfielder Yves Bissouma, making him a new player for the Dutch team this season.
Bissouma, who became a free agent after the end of his contract with Tottenham, has signed a contract with Ajax that takes effect immediately and runs until June 30, 2027.
The 30-year-old player has extensive experience in European football, having started his professional career in 2016 with Lille, before moving to England in 2018 through Brighton, where he represented the club for four seasons.
In 2022, Bissouma moved to Tottenham Hotspur and has remained with the London club until the end of his contract this summer, deciding to embark on a new experience with Ajax on a free transfer.
Ajax's sporting director, Jordan Cruyff, said of the deal: "We started talks with Iff in August, and we are happy to have him signed with us now. We have signed a player with great experience, who knows well the demands of playing at the highest level, can play in multiple positions, and we hope he will be eligible to participate in matches as soon as possible."
Ajax hope that the signing of Bissouma will be a strong addition to the team's midfield, benefiting from his extensive experience in the Premier League and his ability to play in multiple positions.
