Amoura under criticism after first appearance with Nice

Algerian international Mohamed Amine Amoura's start with his new club Nice has not gone as expected, as he faced criticism after participating as a starter for the first time, coinciding with the French team's rocky start to the current season.

Nice have only picked up two points from their first three Ligue 1 matches, drawing against FC Lorient and Le Mans, while suffering a heavy defeat to Paris FC, as they continue their search for their first win in the competition.

Amoura has joined Nice on loan from VfL Wolfsburg, with an option to buy for around €20 million, according to reports linked to the transfer.

The Algerian striker made his first start for Nice against Auxerre, having previously appeared as a substitute at the start of his time with the team. However, he was unable to provide the expected attacking contribution during the minutes he played, whether through scoring or creating danger.

Data available indicates that Amoura has participated in 111 minutes in Ligue 1 without scoring or providing any assists. The newspaper 'L'Équipe' also gave the player a modest rating, considering that he has not done enough to threaten the opponent's goal.

On the other hand, RMC radio noted that Amoura's drop in form is not solely his responsibility, explaining that coach Olivier Pantaloni has not yet settled on the right attacking combination, which also affects Elye Wahi. Amoura hopes to take advantage of the upcoming matches to respond to criticism and regain the effectiveness that characterized his previous experience with VfL Wolfsburg.
