Cardinal: Ben Arfa's talent was so exceptional we wondered why he was with us at Nice

Former French goalkeeper Yohann Cardinale praised the exceptional talent of his compatriot Hatem Ben Arfa, reminiscing about their time together at Nice, and affirming that he is the best player he has played alongside during his career.

Cardinal stated in an interview with French newspaper "L'Équipe" that Ben Arfa was capable of deciding matches on his own, recalling: "When you go to a player at half-time and ask him to win the match for you, and then he actually does it, it means you are dealing with an exceptional player."

The former goalkeeper added that Hatem Ben Arfa's performance in training varied from day to day, explaining: "There were days when he showed a wonderful level, and other days when he did not. When he was at his best, we looked at him in great astonishment and wondered what he was doing with us in the team."

Hatem Ben Arfa made a significant impact at Nice during the 2015-2016 season, scoring 17 goals in Ligue 1, leaving an exceptional impression on his teammates thanks to his individual skills and ability to make a difference.
