Hossam Hassan includes Mohamed Abdelmonem in Egypt squad for Malawi matches
The newspaper "Youm7" confirmed that the technical staff of the Egyptian national team, led by Hossam Hassan, has decided to include Nice defender Mohamed Abdelmonem in the squad for the upcoming matches against Malawi, scheduled for November 13 and 17 as part of the Africa Cup of Nations 2027 qualifiers.
The decision comes after a period of ambiguity and media controversy surrounding the player's stance, following his previous absence from the match against South Sudan due to his reservations about playing on artificial turf. However, the head coach's desire to utilize the player's abilities has resolved the situation, allowing him to join the upcoming training camp.
The Pharaohs' camp will start on November 9 in preparation for the matches against Malawi in the third and fourth rounds on November 13 and 17 in the qualifiers for the Africa Cup of Nations 2027.
The Pharaohs' coaching staff plans to rely on a squad of 25 players during the upcoming international gathering next month, in preparation for two crucial matches against Malawi in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign.
