Arsenal are monitoring Ecuadorian player Willian Pacho, a defender for Paris Saint-Germain, as he has caught the attention of the English club, amid the possibility that he could compete with Gabriel for a place in the team's lineup.

William Saliba will be absent for Arsenal for a while, prompting the club to sign Ezri Konsa, who started for the first time against Chelsea on Sunday and performed well alongside Gabriel.

Mikel Arteta continues to bolster Arsenal's defense with standout defenders, having signed Piero Hincapié and Cristhian Mosquera to the squad over the past year.

According to "CaughtOffside", Arsenal are keeping an eye on Willian Pacho after they followed the Ecuadorian defender during Paris Saint-Germain's recent 2-2 draw with Lille, alongside preparing a detailed scouting report on him.

Arsenal see Pacho as a high-level defensive option due to his left foot, especially since Gabriel and Hincapié are currently the left-footed defenders in the team's backline, which could make him a competitor for a place in the lineup.

However, Willian Pacho's transfer to Arsenal will not be easy, especially as the Ecuadorian defender is also attracting interest from Manchester City, giving him another option to move to the Premier League.

Willian Pacho is currently participating with Paris Saint-Germain, the European champion for the past two seasons, having played a full 90 minutes in all of the team's matches this season, indicating his increasing importance in the plans of the French club. The Ecuadorian defender has also recently signed a new contract with Paris Saint-Germain that runs until 2031.

Based on this, even if the French club is willing to part with Pacho, his departure would require a substantial financial offer for them to agree to the transfer.

It remains to be seen whether Arsenal or Manchester City can convince Willian Pacho to leave Paris Saint-Germain.
