Luis Enrique, the head coach of Paris Saint-Germain, has stressed the importance of the upcoming match against Troyes, scheduled for Saturday as part of the tenth round of Ligue 1. He highlighted the need to maintain focus and the same mentality despite the significant victory over Villarreal by a score of 6-0 in the UEFA Champions League.

Luis Enrique said during the press conference before the match that facing Troyes represents the toughest test for the team this week, despite the opponent sitting in sixteenth place in the Ligue 1 standings. He explained: "Everyone thinks the match will be easy, but the truth is quite the opposite. It is the hardest match this week, and we need to prove that we are a team that understands the need for three points."

The Spanish coach praised his players' maturity and their ability to handle different circumstances, emphasizing that what pleases him is seeing them maintain the same mentality regardless of the results. He added: "We can deliver a good match or a less quality one, but our mentality remains the same. In every test, we show our true level, and that allows us to continue achieving our goals."

Luis Enrique spoke about the emphatic victory over Villarreal, stating that the result does not necessarily reflect the true differences between the two teams, despite his happiness with what his players delivered. He pointed out the need to benefit from the positives and correct the mistakes instead of getting caught up in the praise that followed the match.

Paris Saint-Germain's coach addressed RC Lens' heavy loss to Como by a score of 1-9, considering the result exceptional and not reflective of the true level of the French team. He praised Como's performance while emphasizing that football sometimes sees results that are difficult to explain and do not necessarily reflect the differences between competitors.

The coach emphasized that respecting the opponent does not mean easing performance when leading by a large margin, explaining: "The best way to show your respect for the opponent is to continue playing at full strength, especially when you are ahead by three or four goals. Respect does not mean lowering your intensity or retreating from your style."

Regarding his philosophy in building the team, Luis Enrique clarified that rotation and providing opportunities to various players are essential parts of his project, pointing out that the strength of Paris Saint-Germain lies in its ability to maintain its style regardless of the names present on the pitch.

He added: "If the team plays the same way despite the different players, it means that the work is going well," considering that this characteristic represents one of the main strengths of his team.

The Spanish coach praised his compatriot Fabián Ruiz, stating that he is one of the best midfielders in the world and that his role goes beyond appearances in statistics and goals, given his importance in linking the team's lines. He said: "He is a different player, he has everything, and we are very happy to have him."

He also spoke about the criteria he relies on when selecting his players, explaining that the player's personality and the surrounding environment are important factors, alongside technical and physical abilities and the willingness to develop areas that need improvement.

Paris Saint-Germain aim for their 11th consecutive win in all competitions as they host Troyes at the Parc des Princes, following two big victories this week against Le Havre by a score of 5-1 in Ligue 1 and Villarreal by 6-0 in the UEFA Champions League, before the international break.
