Sfaxien lose to Shooting Stars in Confederation Cup

Sfaxien Club began their CAF Confederation Cup campaign with a defeat against Nigerian hosts Shooting Stars, losing 1-0 in the first round first leg match on Saturday.

The only goal of the match came from Nigerian forward Lucky, who found the net in the 25th minute, giving his team an advantage ahead of the return leg.

Sfaxien Club will need to make up for their deficit in the return match, which will take place on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at the Tayeb Mhiri Stadium in Sfax.

The Tunisian team needs to win by two goals to secure direct qualification, while a one-goal victory would be enough to extend the match to penalties, according to the results of the first and second legs.
