The battle between Al-Ittihad and Al-Dar'iya has intensified for the signing of Jamaican Leon Bailey, winger for Aston Villa, in the final hours of the summer transfer window.

Saudi clubs have entered the race to secure the services of Bailey, who is 29 years old, as his journey with Aston Villa nears its conclusion, according to reports from The Athletic.

The player has fallen out of favour with Spanish manager Unai Emery at Aston Villa, who has opened the door for his departure during the current transfer window.

Leon Bailey continues to train individually at present, having been linked with a potential move to Hull City in recent times, amidst ongoing uncertainty regarding his future.

Aston Villa winger Leon Bailey's contract runs until the summer of 2027, but a departure seems possible if the player and the English club reach an agreement on his next move.

Leon Bailey has an impressive record in European football, having previously played for KRC Genk and Bayer 04 Leverkusen before moving to Aston Villa in the summer of 2021.

During four seasons with Aston Villa, the player made 163 appearances, scoring 23 goals and providing 25 assists, before moving last season to AS Roma on loan.

With Al-Ittihad and Al-Dar'iya entering the race for a contract, the possibility of Leon Bailey moving to the Saudi Pro League is strongly on the table, while the final destination will be determined in the last hours.
