Arsenal targets Gonzalo García
Arsenal are continuing their efforts to strengthen their attacking line, as Mikel Arteta worked during the summer transfer window to bolster several positions in the team in preparation for the Premier League title challenge.
According to "442", Arsenal are currently monitoring Fulham striker Gonzalo García, who joined the English club during the summer transfer window from Real Madrid.
García, 22, has joined Fulham for €40 million, according to reports, but he has attracted interest from several clubs despite his recent arrival in the Premier League.
Arsenal are not the only ones interested in the Spanish forward, as reports also indicate that Aston Villa are monitoring his developments, which could open the door to potential competition for his services in the future.
Arsenal are looking for more depth in their attacking line, with Viktor Gyökeres not receiving regular playing opportunities this season, which makes García one of the names that could provide Arteta with an additional option in the long term.
Fulham's striker possesses good scoring abilities and movement off the ball, as well as the ability to play in multiple positions in the front line, factors that may make him suitable for Arteta's style.
However, García's recent transfer to Fulham makes a low-cost departure difficult, especially since the English club paid a significant amount to secure his services during the summer.
Consequently, any club wishing to sign him in the future may have to pay a high fee, especially if the player continues to deliver strong performances and attracts the interest of more clubs.
Real Madrid remains an important factor in García's future, despite his departure from the club last summer, as the latter successfully included a buy-back clause in the agreement with Fulham.
This clause could give Real Madrid an advantage if the striker becomes available for transfer again, which may link the player's future to more than one party in the coming years.
