Manchester United eye chance to re-sign McTominay
Manchester United are monitoring the possibility of re-signing Scottish midfielder Scott McTominay from SSC Napoli in the summer of 2027, as negotiations to renew the player's contract with the Italian club have stalled, according to TEAMtalk.
McTominay joined SSC Napoli in the summer of 2024 for €30 million, and has become an influential player for the team, contributing to their Serie A title win. However, negotiations to extend his contract have stalled due to his financial demands, as he is seeking a deal that runs until 2030 with an annual salary ranging between €8 and €9 million.
TEAMtalk reported, citing Tutto Mercato Web, that SSC Napoli may agree to let the player leave in 2027, while his current value is estimated at around €25 to €30 million, despite recording 37 goal contributions in 82 matches with the team.
Manchester United and Aston Villa are among the clubs interested in the player, with McTominay open to a return to the Premier League, while Real Madrid is also monitoring his situation.
Scott McTominay has returned to SSC Napoli training after undergoing successful surgery to treat a minor and benign heart rhythm disorder, having missed the recent international break.
