Sunderland Makes Bid for Tottenham's Kevin Danso

Sunderland has made a loan offer to sign Austrian defender Kevin Danso from Tottenham Hotspur until the end of the 2026-2027 season, but Spurs management rejected the bid.

According to BBC correspondent Sami Maqbel, Tottenham has already rejected the proposal submitted by Sunderland, despite Danso's chances of getting regular minutes with the team appearing limited this season under Italian coach Roberto De Zerbi.

This comes after Tottenham's acquisition of defenders Marcos Senesi and Jan Paul van Hecke, alongside the continued presence of Mickey van de Ven, who renewed his contract with the club and received the captain's armband, making the competition for center-back positions more challenging for Danso.

Dansu joined Tottenham on loan from Lens in January 2025, before the deal was made permanent for around £20.9 million later on. He has so far played 37 matches for the London club.

It remains unclear whether Sunderland will return with a new offer to try and secure the 27-year-old defender before the transfer window closes.
