Barcelona begin move to sign Pedro Porro in 2027

FC Barcelona are moving to sign Pedro Porro from Tottenham, following head coach Hans Flick's desire to bring in the Spanish player in the upcoming period.

TEAMtalk reported that the Catalan club has contacted Porro's agent to discuss the possibility of signing him in January or next summer, with the deal likely to be completed in 2027, despite the player having signed a new five-year contract with Tottenham last summer.

The report indicated that Real Madrid are monitoring the situation of the 27-year-old full-back, who has previously expressed a desire to return to Spain, while Tottenham have begun searching for alternatives in anticipation of his departure.

FC Barcelona is working on a deal due to Flick's admiration for the partnership between Pedro Porro and Lamine Yamal on the right side of Spain during the FIFA World Cup.

However, the financial crisis and financial fair play rules may hinder Barcelona's move, especially as Tottenham will demand a world-record fee to part with the player.

In contrast, Spanish radio station "Cadena SER" has clarified that Pedro Porro is not a priority for Real Madrid, who have Alexander Arnold and Denzel Dumfries, in addition to utilizing Fede Valverde in the right-back position.
