Official: Manchester United Signs Carlos Baleba

Manchester United has officially announced the signing of Cameroon international Carlos Baleba from Brighton, with the deal subject to registration procedures.

The 22-year-old midfielder has signed a contract with Manchester United that runs until June 2031, with an option to extend for an additional year.

Manchester United stated on its official website that Paliba has proven himself in recent times as one of the most talented midfielders in the Premier League. In the 2024/2025 season, he ranked sixth among midfielders in the competition for total interventions and interceptions, and he came fourth in average ball progression per 90 minutes.

Last season, Bailly participated in 31 matches in the Premier League, ranking in the top 8% of players in the league for total interventions and tackles, as well as being in the top 1% for winning second balls, aiding Brighton in qualifying for the Europa Conference League.

Bailly stated in comments reported by Manchester United's official website: "It’s a great feeling to join my dream club, playing at Old Trafford is always special, but to have the opportunity to do so as a player for Manchester United will be a real honor."

He added: "I can't wait to work with Michael Carrick, his experience and knowledge of the game make him the perfect coach to help me reach the highest level."
