Elias Skhiri Begins Second Stint with Cologne

Tunisian international Elias Skhiri has returned to FC Köln after spending three years with Eintracht Frankfurt, officially starting his second stint with the club where he previously shone.

Ellyes Skhiri arrived at the club's headquarters, where he had his first day with the team before participating in training and playing his first match after returning. Köln officially announced the signing of the 31-year-old midfielder on a contract that runs until June 30, 2028, and he will wear the number 6 shirt.

Sakiri expressed that he is very happy to be back, confirming that he has not lost touch with the club over the past years. He met with several familiar faces upon his arrival and noted that he felt a renewed sense of confidence during negotiations with the club's management and coaching staff.

Ellyes Skhiri previously represented Köln from 2019 to 2023, becoming one of the standout midfielders before moving to Eintracht Frankfurt on a free transfer. During his first spell at Köln, he made 118 appearances and scored 17 goals according to club data and German sources.

Köln hopes that the return of Skhiri will provide more experience and stability in midfield, especially since the club's management sees him in a leadership role alongside helping the younger players within the squad.
