Augsburg top Bundesliga for the first time in their history
Augsburg have achieved a historic milestone by topping the Bundesliga table for the first time in their history, following their big win over Eintracht Frankfurt with a score of four goals to one in the closing matches of the first round.
This comes at a time when the German football giant and defending champion Bayern Münich stumbled with a goalless draw against their hosts Schalke on Saturday.
Augsburg lead the Bundesliga table with 6 points, ahead on goal difference, while Freiburg, Borussia Dortmund, and Elversberg follow closely with the same points.
In contrast, TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, Borussia Mönchengladbach, and Hamburg have begun the season without any points, occupying the last positions in the league table after the second round.
