Younes Ebnoutalib reveals Klopp's role in choosing to represent Germany over Morocco

Younes Ebnoutalib, the Eintracht Frankfurt striker, has revealed that coach Jürgen Klopp was a decisive factor in his decision to represent the Germany national team instead of Morocco, confirming that the coach's request to join the "Die Mannschaft" greatly influenced his choice.

Klopp is set to lead the Germany national team for the first time when they face the Netherlands next Thursday in the UEFA Nations League, marking the start of his new mission with the team.

Younes Ebnoutalib, who is 23 years old, spoke about his feelings regarding joining the Germany national team, saying: "It's really amazing, a very beautiful feeling. Klopp is one of the best coaches in the world, and yes, there is definitely a positive energy."

Eintracht Frankfurt forward has had discussions with Morocco coach Mohamed Wahbi before confirming his decision in favor of Germany, stating: "When Klopp calls you, you have to go to him."

Younes Ebnoutalib confirmed his connection to both countries, stating: "I love both countries, as they both represent my homeland, and I will certainly continue to wish Morocco all the best."

The German striker explained that Klopp has been keen to clarify his expectations to the players since the beginning of his tenure, pointing out that the coach urged them to take pride in representing the Germany national team and to give their all regardless of the circumstances.

Younes Ebnoutalib said in this context: "He simply wants us to be proud to represent the German national team and to give our best, even if things are not going well."

Klopp has divided the national team list into two groups, with Younes Ebnoutalib joining the first group preparing to face the Netherlands on Thursday and Greece on Sunday.

Younes Ebnoutalib, alongside Kai Havertz, is the only traditional striker in this group, making him a candidate to make his first appearance in the Germany national team shirt, although his participation has not been confirmed yet.

The player spoke about the possibility of making his international debut: "I don't know anything about that yet. I'm just trying to give my best, and I hope to get a lot of playing time."

Younes Ebnoutalib has made a strong start with Eintracht Frankfurt this season, having scored four goals in the four matches the team has played in the Bundesliga so far.

Jürgen Klopp has taken over as head coach of the Germany national team following Julian Nagelsmann, as part of his efforts to rebuild the squad, which exited the FIFA World Cup last summer in the Round of 32.
