Sánchez Martínez to Officiate Real Madrid vs Espanyol Match

La Liga has announced that José María Sánchez Martínez will be the referee for the match between Real Madrid and Espanyol, scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, at 10:30 PM Cairo time, marking the start of the royal team's campaign in La Liga.

According to "Mundo Deportivo," Sánchez Martínez, one of the top referees in the first division, will officiate his first match in La Liga this season, having previously led a qualifying match in the Champions League.

The clash between Real Madrid and Espanyol will be the second match officiated by the Spanish referee between the two teams in the league, having previously managed their first encounter in the 2017/2018 season, which ended in a 1-0 victory for Espanyol on February 27, 2018.

Sanchez Martinez has officiated the most matches for Real Madrid in La Liga, totaling 42 games, during which the royal team achieved 27 victories, 7 draws, and 8 defeats. His last match with Real Madrid was in the thirty-seventh round of last season, when they defeated Sevilla 1-0.
