Real Madrid rejects criticism aimed at Mbappé and sees a campaign against him
Real Madrid have expressed their surprise at the level of controversy surrounding Kylian Mbappé, after he traveled to Paris and Switzerland during his injury period, amid criticism from the club's fans for not staying at Valdebebas to continue his recovery.
Criticism began after photos emerged of Kylian Mbappé with his partner, Éster Expósito, at a nightclub in Paris, and it intensified after he was seen on a bike tour, despite José Mourinho's previous statements that cycling is prohibited for players.
According to "Mundo Deportivo", Real Madrid sees a campaign against Kylian Mbappé aimed at tarnishing his image and affecting his relationship with the club's fans, confirming that the player's rest period was agreed upon and that he received permission from the club and Mourinho.
The club confirms that Kylian Mbappé continued his recovery program for his knee injury during the break, while it sees no reason for controversy regarding the cycling tour, clarifying that the club does not prohibit such regular tours.
Kylian Mbappé arrived in Madrid this morning, while his teammates were training at Valdebebas. He is expected to return to work with the team tomorrow, Tuesday.
Real Madrid are not ruling out Kylian Mbappé's participation in the match against Villarreal on October 10 at the Santiago Bernabéu, according to the source.
