Nottingham Forest Signs Goalkeeper Steven Benda

Nottingham Forest has officially announced the signing of German goalkeeper Steven Benda on a free transfer, following the expiration of his contract with Fulham at the end of last season.

Benda, 27, has signed a one-year contract with Nottingham Forest, with an option to extend for an additional season, making him a new addition to the squad ahead of the season's start.

The goalkeeper had spent three seasons with Fulham, but he did not get many opportunities with the first team, as his appearances were limited to four matches in cup competitions. He also had loan spells last season with Millwall and Feyenoord.

Benda's arrival at Forest provides additional depth in the goalkeeper position, following the departure of several keepers, as he is expected to take on the role of third-choice behind Matt Sells.

The German goalkeeper has a solid experience in English football, having previously played for Swansea City, Swindon Town, and Peterborough United before moving to Fulham in 2023.
