Nottingham Forest set price for selling Murillo
Nottingham Forest are holding on to their Brazilian defender Murillo, despite interest from Manchester United in signing him this January. The club has confirmed that his departure will only happen for an exceptional offer.
TEAMtalk reports that Murillo, 24, has made 117 appearances for Nottingham since joining from Sport Club Corinthians Paulista in 2023, and he renewed his contract last May until 2030.
The Brazilian defender is attracting interest from Manchester United, Liverpool, and Chelsea, but United are the most eager to strengthen their defense by signing him during the winter transfer window.
Manchester United's interest comes as they seek to renew their defensive line, amid questions regarding the level of some of their current defenders, including Lisandro Martínez, who could be at risk if the club moves to sign Murillo.
In contrast, Nottingham Forest value their defender between £70 million and £80 million, and they are unwilling to accept an offer that falls below their financial demands, as the club's management is keen on retaining their key players.
Negotiations for Murillo's transfer are expected to be postponed until next summer, with Nottingham requiring a suitable offer, making the signing of Murillo a challenging task for interested clubs.
