Bernardo Silva: Mourinho is a great coach, here's why I chose Real Madrid

Portuguese star Bernardo Silva expressed his immense happiness after completing his first training session in the Real Madrid jersey, confirming that joining the royal club is a dream come true for him.

Silva stated in an interview with Real Madrid TV: "It’s a very special feeling, and I’m very happy to be here. There’s no need to talk about the history of this club, it speaks for itself. I came to help continue the path of victories, because Real Madrid only knows how to win."

Reflecting on his first training session with the team, he stated: "It was a tough training, but I am happy to get to know my teammates and the coaching staff. I have played against many of them in the past, but now I am glad to be part of this team. The atmosphere here is great, it feels like home."

The player spoke about working under José Mourinho, saying: "I faced him many times as a competitor, and now we are in the same team. He is one of the greatest coaches in the history of Portugal, and I have been following his teams since I was young. I look forward to learning from him and benefiting from his experiences."

Silva added: "I am a team player, I love working for the team, and I always strive to make those around me better. I can play in multiple positions, and I will be ready for any role that Real Madrid needs."

Speaking about his decision to join the Royal Club, he said: "After playing against Real Madrid many times, I knew well the size of this club and what it means to play at Santiago Bernabéu. When the offer from Real Madrid came, I didn't think twice. Playing for the greatest club in the history of football is a great honor for me."

He concluded his remarks by highlighting his key role models in the world of football, emphasizing that Zinedine Zidane, Luka Modric, and Rui Costa were among the players who inspired him the most. He stated: "Zidane is one of the top five players in the history of the game, and I have been following his playing style and ball control since my childhood. Modric also serves as a great role model both on and off the pitch."
