Rennes Secures Charlie Creswell Deal

Stade Rennais is close to announcing the signing of English defender Charlie Creswell from Toulouse, after both parties reached a final agreement on the deal. The player is set to undergo a medical examination on Sunday before signing the official contracts.

According to reports, the deal will be a paid loan worth €2.5 million, with an obligation to buy for €22.5 million, plus €3 million in incentives, while Toulouse will retain 10% of any future sale of the player. Cresswell is expected to sign a five-year contract with the French club after passing his medical.

Rennes has managed to finalize the deal despite strong competition from English clubs, notably Crystal Palace and Fulham, who showed interest in signing the 23-year-old defender over the past few weeks, before the French club reached an agreement with Toulouse.

Criswell is considered one of the most promising defenders in Ligue 1, having delivered standout performances with Toulouse over the past two seasons, which has made him a target for several European clubs.

Despite the completion of the agreement between the two clubs, the official announcement has not yet been made. It is expected to occur after the player completes the medical examination and finalizes the administrative procedures.
